<div><b>David Perry, MD, PhD, FRCPEdin, FRCPLond, FRCPath,</b> is Consultant&nbsp;in Haemostasis, Thrombosis and General Haematology at Addenbrooke’s&nbsp;Hospital, Cambridge, UK, an Honorary Lecturer at the University of&nbsp;Cambridge, and Co-Director of the Haemophilia Comprehensive Care&nbsp;Centre. Prior to joining the staff at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, he was Senior&nbsp;Lecturer in Hemostasis and Thrombosis at the Royal Free and University&nbsp;College Medical School (Royal Free Campus), London, UK. His interests&nbsp;include the molecular genetics of hemostasis and thrombosis, the rare&nbsp;inherited bleeding disorders, and the management of patients with&nbsp;venous thromboembolic disease, particularly in relation to pregnancy.&nbsp;He has published widely in the area of hemostasis and thrombosis. He is&nbsp;a member of the British Committee for Standards in Haematology Task&nbsp;Force on Haemostasis &amp; Thrombosis, a member of the steering group for&nbsp;UK National External Quality Assessment Service (Blood Coagulation),&nbsp;and chairs the Specialist Advisory Group for Haemophilia Molecular&nbsp;Genetics for UK National External Quality Assessment Service. His other&nbsp;interests include medical education – he is examiner for the Royal College&nbsp;of Physicians, Edinburgh and the Royal College of Pathologists, and is the&nbsp;current lead physician for pathology education at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.</div><div><br></div><div><div><b>David Warwick, MD, FRCS, FRCS(Orth),</b> is a Consultant Orthopaedic&nbsp;Surgeon at University Hospitals Southampton, UK. He also runs a specialized&nbsp;practice for patients with hand and wrist problems in Wessex and is&nbsp;a professorial fellow of the University of Southampton. Professor Warwick&nbsp;obtained his doctorate from the University of Bristol in 1995 through&nbsp;original research and dissertation on deep vein thrombosis and total hip&nbsp;replacement, and in 1998 was awarded a Hunterian Professorship at the&nbsp;Royal College of Surgeons, UK. His current research interests include&nbsp;electrical stimulation in the prevention of venous thromboembolism&nbsp;(VTE). Professor Warwick has won awards and prizes for his work on&nbsp;VTE, and has sat on several thrombosis committees, including Chairman&nbsp;of the International Surgical Thrombosis Forum Guidelines Committee.&nbsp;He is currently Section Editor for <i>Annals of Royal College of Surgeons</i>&nbsp;and serves on the Editorial Board of the <i>Bone and Joint Journal</i>. He has&nbsp;also reviewed for journals including <i>Thrombosis and Haemostasis</i>, <i>Hip&nbsp;International</i>, and <i>Clinical Orthopaedics</i>. In his research interest of VTE,&nbsp;he has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and has&nbsp;written several book chapters. Professor Warwick recently authored the&nbsp;orthopedic section of the IUA Consensus Statement on the prevention&nbsp;and treatment of VTE, published in <i>International Angiology</i> in 2013.&nbsp;Professor Warwick has been invited to lecture and present at numerous&nbsp;international, national, and regional meetings. He also acted as an expert&nbsp;witness for the UK Parliamentary Select Committee on ‘The Prevention&nbsp;of Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) in Hospitalised Patients’ in December&nbsp;2004, which examined barriers to effective VTE thromboprophylaxis&nbsp;and strategies that could be used to improve therapy in UK hospitals.&nbsp;He was a member of the Guideline Development group which produced&nbsp;the NICE guidelines for VTE prophylaxis in the UK.</div></div>
